Do Not Become Weary With Doing Good
The potential for a catastrophic war is certainly present in the Middle East. But it is not certain. Everything could calm down for an extended time before things heat up to the boiling point. We might have to wait for weeks, months… years. Or it could all go south tomorrow. Or a few minutes from now.
I just want to encourage my friends… and I consider you my friend if you read this blog with a good heart… not to become weary with doing good.
If you have stored provisions against disaster, you have done a good work. Please keep on checking expiration dates and topping off your supplies. It’s a hassle. I know. I’ve done it for quite some time.
But frankly, it has been worth it even without a major disaster in our area. The little disasters of everyday living have been made easier by having supplies on hand and the knowledge to use them. Beyond that, in at least one instance we’ve used them in a way that may have saved someone’s life.
We are relaxed when weather warnings send others to the stores for disaster supplies that have already disappeared off the shelf. We sleep better knowing that if a sudden emergency arises, we are as ready as we can be.
Being continually ready is definitely worth it. It pays solid dividends even in normal times.
But it’s a hassle.
A continuing hassle.
It takes time and resources, and a will to continue when things seem like they will continue being rosy forever.
I guarantee… they will not always be rosy. Into each life a little rain must fall.
So please know that stocking important items is just that… very important. Increasing your knowledge of how to use those supplies, especially the first aid supplies, is equally important. One day you will be very happy that you did, if you have not already had an instance that makes it all worth while. As we have.
My best wishes and thoughts and prayers go out to you.
