No War in the Middle East This Year

What if there is no Middle East war this year? That would be nice, but I wouldn’t bet my life on it.

Still, what if you get some emergency food, and water, and first aid supplies, expecting a big event started by, oh, I don’t know… perhaps Israel bombing Iran. And then it doesn’t happen.

Would you have been foolish for getting some emergency supplies to have on hand?

Resoundingly, emphatically, definitively… no.

NOAA, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, announced Tuesday that more than 30 percent of the United States may experience a flooding disaster this spring.

“We are looking at potentially historic flooding,” said NOAA administrator Jane Lubchenco. Then, remembering the record floods in the Red River Valley of North Dakota last year she added, “It’s a terrible case of deja vu, but this time the flooding will likely be more widespread.”

Included in her warnings are above-average flood risks in much of the Mid-Atlantic, south, and the east coast, including the Mississippi River and Ohio River basins.
She specifically called out Louisiana, Mississippi, and parts of Florida and Georgia for increased flooding danger.

Flooding is traditionally the weather hazard that claims the most lives in the United States. Over 100 people lose their lives each year, average… much more in years like this one, if the NOAA predictions are accurate. The suffering from exposure and injuries is far greater.

We also get other treats from our weather every year… hurricanes and tornadoes. From the Earth itself, earthquakes that can destroy a city in seconds.

People pitch in too. Forest fires have become a staple in some areas, as we build in places we really shouldn’t. Fires that should have taken only some trees destroy not only the houses built in the forest but surrounding neighborhoods as well as the fire spreads roof to roof. Losses of homes for hundreds of families are now commonplace.

I’m not talking about anything out of the ordinary.

This is pretty much business as usual.

So… war or no war, economy crashing or recovering, your being prepared for the disaster or emergency coming someday to your neighborhood is not just ‘a nice idea’ and one you can put off indefinitely.

It is one of the real things you can do to protect you and yours against the risk of severe harm or perhaps even death. Much better than an insurance policy, because it pays off not in money to the deceased, but in life to the living.

But you cannot prepare after the event begins.

Nitro-Pak is a good place to start … or complete… your preparations.
