Today Bloomberg news, one of the most respected sources for financial news in the United States, said that so many credit card companies are increasing interest rates charged, making terms more difficult and cutting lines of credit, that they see the credit card companies choking U.S. businesses with rate hikes and limit cuts. Almost 75% of U.S. companies with fewer than 500 employees have reported such hikes, cuts and limitations.

Many are going out of business because they cannot afford the new terms for credit.

This is not limited to businesses. Consumers, even those who have always made timely payments and kept low balances, are also being subjected to these unfair terms. And there is nothing we can do about it. This is apparently legal and allowed under current rules.

Really fair, huh? We bail out the banks. They send us into credit card purgatory.

I’m imagining many current credit card holders maxing out their cards before they can’t use them any more. I’m sure many people will feel they have no other choice.

Let me say this. If you have not ordered enough emergency food and other supplies to see you through the next big event, the window for you to do it may be closing very quickly. Very quickly. The manufacturers of long storage life emergency food have already been experiencing such high demand that some items are not available.

Add to that the influx of people who are coming to the realization that if they are ever going to put emergency food on a credit card, they are running out of time to do it… and there is going to be quite a crunch, really soon.

Let me say it plainly to you. If you have considered ordering emergency food that can last up to 25 years, and the way you were going to pay for it was by credit card (like every other person I know) then my feeling is that if you do not do it right away, you may never be able to do it.

I could be wrong. But in my heart I know what I’m saying is true.
