G-20 Meeting Tomorrow

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

If you are seeing this the same day I’ve written it, the G-20 will emerge from their pre-meetings and start having their formal, above-board meetings tomorrow, April 1. Fools Day. The irony is so thick I won’t even comment.

Just in… the new cameras in London will be switched off on April 1. Why? Because they record at 16 pixels less witch than a certain legal spec calls for. If you believe that, I have some land in Florida to sell you that’s under only a few inches of water.

Previously in… the Brits had already set aside 10,000,000 pounds (about $14,300,000.00) to pay for extra riot police.

Sights

Thursday, March 26th, 2009

Of course one easy way to tell if someone is on their way to your location is to … look.

It’s also a good way to tell if there is something happening around you that you might want to be aware of.

If it seems simpleminded for me to say these things, you would be surprised how much these things need to be said.

In an emergency situation, people tend to develop tunnel vision. Things immediately at hand take on increased importance. The further off a thing is, the more likely it is to be ignored. That is natural, and a good survival characteristic. If you do not stop serious bleeding, it does not matter if rain is coming.

Successfully Unscented

Saturday, March 21st, 2009

Last time I shared with you the fact that I can smell you coming, and talked about some of the ways I could do so.

This time I’ll tell you why you can’t smell me.

First, I never use any colognes. My wife, with regrets, does not wear perfumes.

For underarm deodorant, we … don’t use any. But we do not smell bad. In fact, quite the reverse. We use colloidal silver under our arms and any other places that might generate scent. Because most body odor (if we are healthy) that is not caused by the food we eat comes from bacteria which grows on us and releases sulphur based wastes that, of course, smell very bad. Colloidal silver simply kills them, so that your sweat does not become a breeding ground for germs. Very nice. No body odor, no added scent.

Sex

Thursday, March 19th, 2009

Caution: XXX this post for adults only.

After the first rush of an emergency situation (or during, for some people) there is a very normal human response… the need for comfort and closeness.

People need the warmth of another person. They need hugs, an arm around the shoulder, a shoulder to cry on. And this has nothing to do with sex. It is the child in us crying out to the adult in the people around us. And two people can be each at the same time… the heart of a child reaching out, and the adult comforting the other person. This is the grief response we often see at funerals, and in the wake of a disaster.

It is wise to think about such things before the event. Prepare your heart to give as much as you can to those around you who need it.

Credit Cards - URGENT News Flash

Tuesday, March 17th, 2009

Today Bloomberg news, one of the most respected sources for financial news in the United States, said that so many credit card companies are increasing interest rates charged, making terms more difficult and cutting lines of credit, that they see the credit card companies choking U.S. businesses with rate hikes and limit cuts. Almost 75% of U.S. companies with fewer than 500 employees have reported such hikes, cuts and limitations.

Many are going out of business because they cannot afford the new terms for credit.

This is not limited to businesses. Consumers, even those who have always made timely payments and kept low balances, are also being subjected to these unfair terms. And there is nothing we can do about it. This is apparently legal and allowed under current rules.

Really fair, huh? We bail out the banks. They send us into credit card purgatory.

Scents

If you are the average American, I can tell you are coming a hundred yards or more before you have any chance of knowing I’m in your path.

I can choose to let you pass without incident. Or I can select to ‘greet’ you.

If you’re me, that is optimal. I would not want to be in your shoes.

But I can teach you how to be in my shoes. In fact, you can learn the skills before you finish reading this 2-part post. The only thing I ask in return is that you buy some food, either at the grocery store or on from a link on this website, and get some storable water, and put both away in case of an emergency. Could be as little as one can of beans and a six-pack of soda. Anything. Then you will have made this blog worthwhile for both of us. Of course more is better.

Don’t Forget About Your Animals

Saturday, March 7th, 2009

Most people I know who have animals take care of them very well indeed.

But if you have not yet started stocking food and water and supplies for yourself during an emergency, it’s a pretty sure bet you have not done so for your pets. Truth is, their needs will be as great as your own. They depend on you for the food and water and medicines you provide for them. For life itself.

You want to be able to do your duty toward them in an extended emergency situation. So doesn’t it just make sense to start laying in enough food and other supplies to sustain them for a period of time when those things might not be available?
