Decisions, Decisions

My wife brought up a very good point. We were taking inventory of our emergency food stores, and she said, “You know, people really shouldn’t put off getting some food in, just because they do not have their shopping list perfect yet. It’s important to get something in, even if it’s not complete, or not perfect. A person can add things later, or make changes.”

I think so too. There is a world of difference between having something that’s not perfect… and having nothing.

Over the years, we have revised what we store. We have learned that some things keep better than others, since we rotate and use older food and restock with foods that have expiration dates further in the future. There are even a couple of things that we have eaten that we say to each other,’ why in the world did we get that?’ On the other hand, we have increased the quantities of some things that we really like.

But even when I’m making a face eating what was a less than perfect choice, I’m thinking I would really, really enjoy it if that was all I had to eat.

Times are precarious. Having a store of food gives a measure of calmness.

My feeling is make some decisions and go forward with your preparations. A bird in the hand….
